The talks, held from March 5-9 at the BGB headquarters in Dhaka, saw BSF DG Nitin Agrawal and BGB DG Maj Gen Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui leading their respective delegations. Both sides aim to minimize incidents of attacks by increasing coordinated patrols, particularly during vulnerable periods. They also plan to educate border communities on the sanctity of the International Border.

Efforts to aid victims of human trafficking and to share approved developmental plans for both sides were agreed upon. The BSF also accepted a proposal from BGB for constructing a memorial for martyred freedom fighters of Bangladesh. Real-time information sharing on human traffickers and other trans-border crimes will be intensified, with the goal of making the border crime-free.
