R C Sharma, Commandant (Retd.), is a border security professional having vast experience on international border (IB), Line of control (LOC), Anti-Naxal operations and serving in highest battlefield of the world, Siachen Glacier. He commanded battalions on Eastern and Western border and commanded one of the first five battalions of BSF inducted to fight Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in Chhattisgarh. Officer had two instructional tenures in BSF Academy offering officer’s courses covering issues of border management, geopolitical, strategic and tactical issues. He has also had international exposure with a year of deputation with the United Nations’ Organization. A recipient of President Police Medal for meritorious service, he has also contributed scholarly articles in BSF Journaland FORCE magazine. He is presently working as Registrar with Sri Sai University Palampur, Distt-Kangra (Himachal Pradesh).
