Professor Karori Singh is Emeritus Fellow at the South Asia Study Centre, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. His research interest veers around Development Policy, Conflict and Cooperation in South Asia. His initial research for the award of Ph.D. was on “Agricultural Land Reforms in Sri Lanka” which was expanded in a comparative perspective in South Asian context during Post-doctoral Fellowship offered by Development Policy Programme of Resource Systems Institute of East West Center, Hawaii.
He has participated in Wilton Park Conferences of the British Commonwealth Office and constantly focusing his research on the issues of conflict and cooperation in the South Asian countries including implications and consequences of inter-state migration and smuggling activity across the international borders in South Asia.
He had been Director of South Asia Studies Centre, members of various academic bodies/committees at national and international level, member of University Syndicate. Besides, he is a member of Editorial Boards of various research Journals besides the Chief Editor of South Asian Studies, one of the oldest journals on South Asia.
He has vast international exposure which expanded horizon of his social research and methodological understanding. His strong conviction of policy relevant research stems from his training, experience and abiding interest in socially relevant research of scientific validity.
