Heroin Worth ₹15 Crore Smuggled via Drone Near International Border
Jaisalmer: In a coordinated effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Rajasthan police seized 3 kilograms of heroin, valued at ₹15 crore, near the India-Pakistan border in Sriganganagar on Tuesday. The narcotics were smuggled using a drone and dropped in a field near the village of 44 PS.
Anupgarh Superintendent of Police, Ramesh Maurya, stated that a search operation was initiated late Monday night after credible intelligence was received about a heroin drop near the international border.

The search led to the discovery of the heroin package in a field belonging to Balwantsingh in Rohi 44 PS. A case has been registered at the Samja Kothi police station.
Station House Officer Vikas Bishnoi of Samja Kothi police station reported that the operation began at 1:30 AM on Monday night. The heroin consignment had been sent from Pakistan via a sophisticated drone. Upon receiving this intelligence, police immediately reached the site and alerted the BSF and CID, leading to the successful seizure.
Bishnoi also mentioned that the BSF and police cordoned off the area and conducted a joint search operation to track down the smugglers.
Despite recent seizures and arrests, incidents of heroin smuggling from Pakistan via drones continue to increase in the region.
