Dr. Hitesh Kumar Meena is a sociologist and national security scholar with a Ph.D. in National Security Studies from the Central University of Gujarat, and UGC-NET (JRF) qualification in Sociology. He holds dual master’s degrees—in Sociology and in Defence & Strategic Studies—which shape his interdisciplinary expertise across social theory, strategic affairs, and conflict resolution.
His research focuses on radicalization, terrorism, cyber threats, digital propaganda, and peacebuilding, integrating sociological frameworks with strategic security analysis. He has taught Sociology and Political Science at institutions including S.S. Jain Subodh Law College and ICFAI University.
His academic strengths include conflict analysis, discourse analysis, identity politics, youth radicalization, and sociological approaches to law, state, and security. Trained in both qualitative and policy-based research methods, Dr. Meena combines empirical inquiry with critical reflection to address contemporary security challenges.
He currently serves as Sub Editor for Borderscape: An International Journal of the Borderman Organisation, and is a peer reviewer for Subodh Nexus, Journal of World Affairs: Voice of Global South, and Journal of Asian Security and International Affairs. His academic mission is to bridge sociological insight with national and global security discourses, particularly from a global South perspective.
