Mayank Singh has been closely covering and writing on the national security and defence matters for more than 18 years. He has covered all the uniformed forces under the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home. His reportage includes ground reports from locations like Siachen, Kargil, LoC at Kupwara, Poonch and Rajouri, and LAC in Ladakh, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh, to name a few. He has prolific exposure of the maritime matters with onboard visits to warships and submarine.
His international assignments include the PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel which was the first ever Indian Prime Ministers’ visit, PM’s important visit to Nepal, Energy summits at Vienna and London. He was the only reporter allowed to visit the 1st Division of the surrendered Maoists in Lahan, Nepal which was under the United Nation’s watch after the Maoists gave up arms. He has worked with Television news channels, Defence and security monthly magazine Force, News agency ANI (Asian News International) and Newspaper. Has an academic approach and has even contributed a chapter in the book NJ 9842: The Siachen Saga. He is fond of teaching and is a regular guest faculty at various security academies and colleges.
