New Delhi, September 13, 2026: The 18th BRICS Summit, hosted by India at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12–13, has brought together leaders of major emerging economies amid heightened geopolitical and economic tensions. India is chairing BRICS in 2026 under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for stronger cooperation among BRICS countries and a greater role for the Global South in shaping international institutions. He highlighted concerns over geopolitical tensions, supply-chain disruptions, climate challenges and the potential weaponisation of technology and critical minerals.
